Position Summary

We are seeking a gospel-centered, servant-hearted individual to join our team to help lead and shepherd a growing urban congregation in the heart of New Delhi. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate to serve in a diverse, urban context desiring personal and city renewal.

The role of an intern is best suited for a new graduate from a seminary who is seeking to gain practical ministry exposure and experience in an urban context. The candidate will be part of the Staff team at New City Delhi and fulfil its mission to lead people to know and experience the gospel for a life of freedom and purpose. This mission is carried out through Sunday worship gatherings, small groups, gender and age based discipleship groups and various other community and city events. The Intern will serve in leading, pastoring, equipping, preaching and training roles based on their giftedness in an English speaking urban city context.

The candidate should be able to affirm The Gospel Coalition Doctrinal statement wholeheartedly and without reservation.

Highlights of the Internship

Ministry: Training and development in specific areas of church ministry.
Theology: Learning through Delhi School of Theology in theology and practical ministry.
Leadership: Mentoring relationship with the Pastoral team at New City.
Relationship: Involvement in community and life of the church.

Eligibility

· Should be a committed follower of Jesus.
· Should be graduate from a reputed seminary.
· Should be able to provide character and ministry reference.

Basic Requirement

· Should be a committed follower of Jesus Christ with a clear calling for ministry.
· Commit for the entire one-year Internship Program.
· Should be able to understand and communicate in English.
· Support and embody New City values and vision.
· Must serve full time with New City.
· Have a joyful and humble attitude to serving Christ and his church.
· Be a team player, self-motivated, diligent and disciplined.
· Be exemplary in character and attitude.
· Enthusiastic participation in all meetings, events and weekend worship services as related to the area of ministry.

About New City Delhi

The church began as a group of 8 people praying and envisioning an urban church plant in South Delhi. The group multiplied across the city over a period of one yearand the first service was launched on March 2018. Today, the church is located in Hauz Khas Village, a vibrant and historic neighbourhood in South Delhi. The congregation meets on Sundays in 2 services and as City Groups in various homes during the week. There are around 150 adults and 25 children desiring to personally grow in the gospel and seeking the renewal of our city.
