Position Summary
We are seeking a gospel-centered, servant-hearted individual to join our team to help lead and shepherd a growing urban congregation in the heart of New Delhi. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate to serve in a diverse, urban context desiring personal and city renewal. The role of the Associate Pastor is to be part of the Elder and Staff team at New City Delhi and fulfil its mission to lead people to know and experience the gospel for a life of freedom and purpose. This mission is carried out through Sunday worship gatherings, small groups, gender and age based discipleship groups and various other community and city events. The Associate Pastor will serve in leading, pastoring, equipping, preaching and training roles in an English speaking urban city context.

The Elder team and Lead Pastor
Doctrinal Requirements
The candidate should be able to affirm The Gospel Coalition Doctrinal statement wholeheartedly and without reservation. The candidate should be able to affirm Reformed confessions namely the five solas, Sola Scriptura, Sola Fide, Sola Gratia, Solos Christus and Soli Deo Gloria.
Ministry Philosophy
The candidate must affirm the centrality of the gospel in all areas of life and ministry, articulate a clarity in gospel understanding and demonstrate it through character traits of humility, vulnerability and generosity.
Biblical Criteria
The candidate should meet the qualifications of an Elder as stated in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus.
Spiritual Gifts
• Should be able to preach God’s word with clarity and conviction.
• Should be able to relate and communicate to a culturally and generationally diverse urban congregation.
• Should possess the qualities of a servant leader who serves the church with grace and compassion.
• Should be able to demonstrate a lifestyle of personal evangelism and discipleship.
Educational Qualifications
The candidate should possess a graduate level education from an accredited theological seminary.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Shepherd the congregation through pastoral care.
• Preach God’s word as part of the preaching team.
• Lead a weekly city group, which a small group environment that meets in homes.
• Oversee and provide leadership to various ministries according to the gifting of the candidate.
• Equip the members through discipleship and training in various ways.
• Administration and oversight of organisational and ministry areas.
• Active participation and collaboration for Sunday worship gathering.
• Lead various events for church and city as part of a team.

Terms of Employment
Full time role in Delhi with a salary that will commensurate with experience.

About New City Delhi
The church began as a group of 8 people praying and envisioning an urban church plant in South Delhi. The group multiplied across the city over a period of one yearand the first service was launched on March 2018. Today, the church is located in Hauz Khas Village, a vibrant and historic neighbourhood in South Delhi. The congregation meets on Sundays in 2 services and as City Groups in various homes during the week. There are around 150 adults and 25 children desiring to personally grow in the gospel and seeking the renewal of our city.
